Taping

Taping is a very convenient tool that helps stabilise and support your muscles and joints. Taping is also very important when returning to competitive sport after a lengthy a period of time.

The general goals of athletic taping is to restrict the motion of an injured joint, compress soft tissues to reduce swelling and help support anatomical structures involved in the injury as it progressively returns to “game time fit”.

Common areas that are taped include postural taping, ankle and knee taping, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand and thumb and hip taping.

We also perform a modified taping technique that mimics what an orthotic in your shoe would do to your movement.

If you feel as though you are lacking support or feel pain in your shins, knees and thighs when moving, then tapping may be the answer you are looking for. Be sure to contact our team for assessment today.
