Ultrasound Thereapy

Therapeutic ultrasound is a treatment modality that is applied using the head of an ultrasound probe that is placed in direct contact with your skin via a transmission coupling gel.

We commonly use the US machine for acute injuries and chronic injuries that flare up and present acutely. It is used amongst other interventions for the patient's rehabilitation as it increases the healing rate by casuing tissue relaxation, tissue heating, local blood flow and scar tissue breakdown.

Some common injuries that could benefit from the use of this machine include lateral ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinitis, muscle tears, patella tendinitis, trochanteric bursitis, tennis elbow, rotator cuff tendinitis, De Quervain’s syndrome, bicep tendinitis and ligament tears.

The use of this machine can assist with the speed of the acute phase of the injury to help you recover and return to your normal functioning state.
